И опять же - а водитель как это будет воспринимать?

Возможно стоит просто дополнительно ОСВЕТИТЬ пешеходные переходы?

По поводу осветить - безусловно. И световозвращатели на пешеходов повесить. Безопасности много не бывает.

Dear Alexander, thank you for your interest. The systems are working in real life since 2004 in the Czech Republic. Embedded lights can be used in Siberia, no problem, but detection system is able to work up to -30°C. Probably not more. I will ask technicians for special design for Siberia. Whether is possible to prepare some solution or not. I will give you info later on.

Попытка продвинуть переход по такой технологии (даже ради эксперимента) в новосибирском Академгородке закончилась никак. Нет денег, вот и весь сказ местных чиновников.

The goal of “safe pedestrian crossings” is mainly to increase the safety of the most vulnerable participants of road traffic – the pedestrians.
To see and be seen is a vital premise of road traffic safety. It applies to drivers of vehicles as well as to pedestrians. Compared to drivers’ position, however, pedestrians’ position on road infrastructure is incomparable. For pedestrians, “to be seen” is a matter of life. For drivers, to see a pedestrian in time means to prevent an accident through adjusting the driving or stopping.
The way of protection does not lie in making the drivers stop their vehicle, as in by using light signalling devices (mainly the S1a signal – the signal with the “Stop!” red light), but rather in positive motivation. Safe crossings try to timely alert the driver of an incoming vehicle to an imminent “vehicle vs. pedestrian” collision, thereby influencing their behaviour.
The system lies in using embedded two-way LED signalling devices placed optimally at the centre of the horizontal V7 ZEBRA road marking. This way, we achieve effective highlighting of the crossing’s location in the entire width of the road, especially from the viewpoint of drivers of incoming vehicles. This modification can be used for a two-lane communication as well as for multilane communication.
Using the “safe crossings” system is convenient in locations where good overview of the crossing is not guaranteed, for example because of an obstacle on the communication (inappropriately parked vehicle). Furthermore, it is a significant increase of pedestrians’ safety on multilane communications, where collision situations often occur because of drivers’ inattention (one driver is giving the right of way to a pedestrian while another driver, driving in the next lane in the same direction, continues in their way).

По-прежнему новые светофоры и переходы ставят по-старинке у нас в Новосибирске. Даже на улице, где проезжает губернатор Новосибирской области к себе на дачу. Как раз сегодня наблюдал.
Плохое освещение перехода, плохая, легко истираемая разметка, не учитывают сезон снега, который с ноября по апрель в Новосибирске, и т.д.
Максимум, что было сделано: рефлекторы ядовито жёлтые вокруг знака "Пешеходный переход".
